Description

Responsibilities

  • The Design Assistant will work hands-on with Gabberts Designers. They will assist with tasks such as:
  • Setting up presentation rooms per Designers' requests.
  • Reviewing order paperwork for completion and accuracy.
  • Attending presentations and house calls to take notes and assist with selections.
  • Monitoring project statuses and communicating changes to Designers and/or clients.
  • The Design Assistant maintains the resource room, including fabrics and catalogs, and orders new samples as necessary.
  • On larger projects including coordinating models homes, the Design Assistant will assist with ordering merchandise, coordinating deliveries, and packing and unpacking the merchandise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in design preferred.


Experience: Three to five years of administrative experience preferred.


Physical Demands: Low physical demands required. The employee is regularly required to sit for sustained periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.


Other: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Drafting and proofreading skills are a plus.
